Changes to Recycling Program
Posted Date:
6/28/2018
York County has changed their policy regarding the recycling of plastic bags and shredded paper. Effective July 2, York County will no longer accept these items mixed in with other recycling.

York County‚Äôs new Material Recovery Facility (MRF) will be operational at the end of July for processing recyclables.  Plastic bags will damage the machinery leading to costly repairs, processing downtime, and safety issues for workers.  Shredded paper is so small that it falls through the processing equipment and becomes trash.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE TOWN OF CLOVER RECYCLING PROGRAM

The Town will no longer collect plastic bags such as grocery or shopping bags.  These bags can be recycled at most grocery stores or at one of the York County Recycling and Collection centers.  Items placed in a plastic bag will not be collected.

Shredded paper will not be collected.  Please dispose of shredded paper with your regular garbage or take to one of the York County Recycling and Collection centers.
