Public Hearing Notice FY19-20 Budget

The Clover Town Council will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, June 10, 2019, at 6:30 PM at the Clover Community Center, 120 Bethel Street, on Ordinance 19-08 adopting the proposed 2019-2020 Fiscal year budget.
The public is invited to attend to provide input.  

Budget Highlights include:
  • Property Taxes to increase by 4 mills - from 122 to 126 mills.  The increase equals $16  per year on a $100,000 home.  The 4 mill increase is expected to generate $75,000 in revenue.  The last property tax increase was for tax year 2018.  For the average home valued at $120,900 will pay approximately $19.34 more in property taxes. 
  • There are no other fee or rate increases being proposed at this time.
  • Expenses include increases in retirement system contributions (~$48,000 increase)
  • Several technology related upgrades are planned including software for the Police Department and for emergency notifications.  
  • Capital projects include parking improvements at the Community Center and the lot off Guinn Street as well as building improvements to the old Rescue Squad building.
  • Other facility improvements include removal of the gas tanks at the Public Works yard and replacement of the steps at the Police Department.
  • A stormwater inventory and study is planned.
  • New programs are planned for New Centre Park including a summer concert series called [email protected] Centre.  The Town will continue offering special events throughout the year such as the St. Patrick‚Äôs Day Festival, Movies in the Park, Butts Cookoff and Music Frenzy
  • Live Well Clover events such as Couch to 5K and Fit for Fall as well as Gallery 120's Art Camps and gallery events will also continue.

The Town Council will also hold a budget workshop on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at 6:30pm at the Clover Community Center.
