A water line break on August 19 has resulted in a loss of water pressure over the majority of the Town’s water distribution system.  Town crews repaired the line overnight and water service has been restored.

At this time there is no reason to believe that harmful contaminants have gotten into the water system but customers may choose to BOIL WATER as a safety precaution.  Vigorously boil water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking.  Some customers may also see cloudy water; this is a result of the break and is not indicative of contaminants.

Water samples have been taken and will be tested.  It takes at least 24 for results on the first sample.  A second sample will be taken on Friday, August 21, with results expected by Saturday.  The boil water advisory will be in effect until the results from both samples have been returned.
