Explorer Post 18 was created on October 17, 2006, by the Clover Fire Department in partnership with Bethany and Bethel Fire Departments.
The program began to help promote an interest in fire service for the youth in the community between the ages of 15 to 20 who are interested in a career in fire service fields.
There are currently 7 advisors who are members of Clover, Bethany and Bethel Fire Departments and 20 youth individuals who will be trained in fire related topics including fire suppression, SCBA training, ground ladders, first aid/CPR & AED, fire prevention, and public events in the community.
The Explorer Post has been beneficial to the fire departments in the area because they have assisted in hose testing, clean-up after fire calls, fundraisers, community projects and Boy Scout Eagle projects.
Explorer Post 18 sells reflective street address signs. Order forms are available at Town Hall, 116 Bethel Street.
